This is actually an old version of For the latest and greatest, check out the new site.

These are tough times, and it’s not always clear on how to deal with it. Here are a few perspectives on getting some perspective from some sources I hold in high regard.

Jeffrey’s got a few recession tips for web designers.

Greg has written a manifesto, posing challenges for business owners, designers, developers, and vendors to make web design as a whole a success, despite what’s going on around other industries.

Naz has a few inspiring words on maintaining the quality of your work and holding your head high.

And finally, some advice on true success from the wisest man that ever lived:

Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good; God probes for what is good. Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place… When God approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand. Far better to be right and poor than to be wrong and rich. We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.

—Proverbs 16:1-3, 7-9 (The Message)

Here’s to a successful 2009.

This was a really well-timed read for me. I'm struggling through some difficult adjustments and plans right now, and have really been kicked in the face with my inability to control everything in my life.

Thanks for sharing.
